About

JOURNALIST

I am a journalist by training and have a great interest in writing pieces that inform, educate and sometimes, entertain my readers.

When writing, I have some things in mind. Firstly, to inform/ educate the reader to help them understand the situation or circumstance of my writing. It is also important that readers follow my writing in an unbiased way: forming opinions based on their own informed, thought out and possibly researched findings and conclusion.

I don’t believe in writings/write ups or reports that make the reader accept information without scrutiny. This aspect of giving out information, especially one sided (no matter how right that one sided one is) and the believe “that we have to accept” has made some people loose faith in the MSM.

In my content, there are aspects of biblical talks, write ups and trending events. There will also be contributions within my blog contexts from other people that have passion for the truth.

BACKGROUND

I am a a wife and mom of four, journalist, a PR consultant, an entrepreneur and I run my NGO that rethinks/focus on underprivileged children, women, widows, orphans and vulnerable children.

I have a B.A (Hons) in Mass Communication and an M.A in Media Arts and nearly two decades of experience as a Reporter, Principal Correspondent, sub Editor, Senior Public Relations Officer, Media Assistant and a stint with photo journalism, Board membership of Riverplate Associates LTD, member, Advisory Board of Media Education.

I have covered many local and international events including International Labour Organisation conferences, Maritime Conferences, World Trade Organisation conferences and Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC).

SpeakOut was born out of my love for journalism, social justice, seeing people informed, educated and entertained. Growing up in my country of birth Nigeria, I have seen children, women, Orphans and Vulnerable Persons (OVCs), widows and families in extreme poverty, without the basic necessities of life, unable to afford education etc.

I also care deeply for persons living with HIV/AIDs, mainly because of the discrimination they faced in the early 2000s. As a result of all these cares/needs, I began running an NGO to help to address the above concerns.

MY STORY

I am a Christian, born catholic but later joined Pentecostal movement and was in it for over 25 years, where I learnt  that my relationship with God is transactional which means if I don’t do things like give money “to God”,  work in the church building, attend service always, reverence pastors etc, then I cannot be blessed by God or receive any gifts from Him. I must give money to “God” before I can prosper or even get wealth. The rich of the world, celebrities, sports stars come to mind easily. I haven’t read or heard they got rich by church.

I began to learn that I was in deception as God already loves me unconditionally and blessed me (with the gift of salvation) and I need to add nothing more. (Ephesians 2 verse 8). I came to learn that my earthly needs are/will be met by myself and therefore the biblical miracles are not for this dispensation that we are in. We cannot ask for manner or daily bread and it comes from heaven or is multiplied (like the 5 loaves and 2 fish) for us- BUT that we work if we must eat 2 Thessalonians 3 verse 10 and must not be a burden to church members 2 Thess 3:8.

Also the miracles they claim to perform and we claim to see-like the dead raised, the lame walk, getting a job without application, entering an airport toilet and transported (teletransported) to another country etc were mainly fables. I began to call out these lies through Facebook live videos and YouTube. I got and still get feedbacks on the positive impacts of the videos (and also attacks from people who have not yet seen through many of the lies of their pastors and men of God)
